Heya! I’m Evelyn Johnson, and I consider it my not-so-secret mission to encourage others whenever I can, whether by cheering them on, lending a hand, or making them laugh. I write romance-free, adventure-filled fantasy that inspires budding teens to live out their own adventures, empowering them to chase their dreams with confidence.
If I’m not holed up in my room penning epic tales and talking to myself out loud, you can find me arranging music on the piano, ruining my posture as I draw fantasy maps, or memorizing another terrible joke, all while drinking black tea with cacao nibs.

How did I get here?
Technically, it’s my dad’s fault I’m a writer. Every night of my childhood, he read aloud to me and my siblings before bed, introducing me to tales like The Hobbit, Chronicles of Narnia, and I, Robot. Those stories inspired me to write books of my own.
I spent a lot of time studying the art of writing through instructional non-fiction, but it wasn’t until I attended my first writing conference in 2024 that I realized what publishing a novel—and doing that as a career—really looked like. I took heaps of wisdom home with me, as well as a pamphlet for this college program called the Author Conservatory.
I joined the Conservatory later that year, and since then, I’ve learned incredible lessons in writing craft, published a few short stories, and put another novel under my belt. It’s certainly an adventure… and I’d love to have you along for the journey.
